Welcome to the Democratic Club of Sarasota!

With our local and national Primaries behind us, all of our Democratic Candidates and  Precinct Captains are shifting into high gear.  Please consider volunteering in any way you can during this key time.  Everything from placing a sign in your yard to walking door-to-door with a candidate to hosting fundraisers or Meet & Greets will collectively help reach our ultimate goal: Turning Sarasota Blue!

So with that in mind, we have an important "Save the Date" to announce:  The Sarasota Democratic Club's Annual Fall Dinner will be Sunday, October 19th.  We guarantee prominent national, state and local Democratic speakers, fun political entertainment and we'll give our Candidates what they need for that crucial last minute push.  Our  theme this year is:  "Deliver the Change!"  We strongly encourage you to accept the challenge because, as we all know, political success is dependent on local, grassroots support.  Stay tuned for more details....

....And once all  the hard work is done: Let's Party!  The Democratic Club of Sarasota and the Longboat Key Democratic Club are hosting a HUGE, ELECTRIC, REWARDING, FREE November 4th Victory Night Bash at Marina Jack!  We have secured the whole downstairs patio area, outdoor decking and indoor rooms as well as upstairs banquet area to celebrate with our candidates and fellow Democrats.  We'll have big screen TV's to watch the returns, hot and cold hors d'ouvres, entertainment and a cash bar.  Guaranteed to be THE DEMOCRATIC PLACE  to "be, see and be seen"!  As you are working hard to elect Democrats, spread the word!

September 13th:  DEMOCRATIC CLUB LUNCHEON: Our main speaker will be State Rep. Keith Fitzgerald.  Reflecting on his first term in office and his first re-election bid, Keith will speak on "Reviving the American Dream". The luncheon is at Laurel Oak Country Club, 2700 Gary Player Blvd. (off Bee Ridge Rd. approximately 2 miles east of I-75) @ 11:30.  The cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.  RSVP @ reserve@sarasotadems.com or 379-9233.  Sarasota/Manatee Young Democrats are invited to attend at the DCS member cost.

There are only 2 months left to participate in our "Take a Candidate to Lunch" program.  We all enjoy having our Democratic Candidates come to our luncheons to give us updates on their campaigns and enlist individual support.  By statute, the Club is under strict contribution restrictions and to not charge our candidates for their lunch would be considered an "in kind"  contribution.  However, any Club Member willing to "treat" a candidate is perfectly acceptable.  If you would like to be added to the list as someone willing to donate a $20 ticket price, please contact me (nefeehan@comcast.net) or Elaine Foster at rfoster010@aol.com.
